About Classic Italian Meatballs

This classic Italian meatballs recipe can be used for baking and frying for both. However, you will get the tasty crust on the bottom by using foil instead of parchment paper.

Tips

  • If you are craving for cheesy meatballs all you have to do is add some cheese into the centre of the meatballs.
  • Do not cover the meatballs.
  • You can substitute the ground beef with the ground chicken or turkey (If you are using ground chicken, decrease milk to 2 tablespoons).
  • If you made them in two sizes you can use them as appetizers and entreé.
  • If you are adding parsley, make sure to include the upper half of the parsley stems when chopping. Because the stem is the softest part of the herbs. Those are completely edible and has a great flavour too.
  • Need to be extra careful when mixing the meatballs. Do not over-mix the meat. If you overmix the meat it will lose the consistency and fall-apart and will not make a beautiful meatball. Use your hands to control the mixing.

 

Serving Suggestions

  • As an appetizer heat in marinara sauce and sprinkler some parmesan cheese over the top and served with some toothpicks for your friends or family. They will absolutely love it.
  • You could use them as a pizza topping with marinara sauce. Don’t forget to add a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • The best choice is to use as a baked meatball and pasta (penne, ziti, fusilli). Mix with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, meatballs and pasta and baked until they become lightly brown at 350 F.
  • Meatball soup is another delicious easy meal for lazy evening dinner. Make your favourite vegetable or stew soup and add your meatballs and keep them until they get heated.

Line a 13×9 inch pan with a foil and spray some cooking spray.
