Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2- 9 inch round cake pans. |

In a mixing bowl, beat together dry cake mix, sour cream, eggs, melted butter and pudding mix. |

Beat well until fluffy and smooth. |

Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips. |

Pour batter evenly between the two cake pans. |

Bake 30-32 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. |

Let cakes sit for approx 10 minutes before removing from pans. Then, cool completely on wire rack before frosting. |

FOR FROSTINGIn a microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate for one minute. Then, stir. Add in whipped topping and microwave again for 30-45 seconds. Stir again. Be sure chocolate is fully melted and smooth. It should be mixed completely with whipped topping. Refrigerate for approx 15-30 minutes or until set and thicken. When frosting is ready, frost one layer of cake. Top with second layer and frost with remaining frosting. |
